Things to See in Music City

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

So it’s time for my next travel blog and I thought about what destination I wanted to share with you. Of the 48 states I have traveled to, there are many cities I love. One particular city I love so much is Nashville in Tennessee, so I wanted to share some of my favorite sites to check out when I make a visit.

I have been traveling to Nashville since the early 90s and I have to say, it changes every time I visit. Some good changes, some bad. I really enjoyed the Nashville of the 90s because it was so original and didn’t allow its authenticity to be bought. Now enter big investors wanting to cash in on the popularity of the New Country Stars. (Pop Country Artist) and the television show Nashville.  The history and culture of Nashville is disappearing, which saddens so many including myself. The high rise office buildings are chipping away at Music Row, which personally breaks my heart. I can see both sides; those that want the historic buildings to remain and those that see growth as an opportunity for investors, local businesses and homeowners. So I want to share both the historic sites to visit and the new Nashville in this blog. It is such a great city to visit so I hope you enjoy.

The Grand Ole Opry

The Grand Ole Opry is a legendary country music venue with more legends playing there than most other venues. You can feel the electricity and history when you walk through the doors. Located at: 2804 Opryland Drive

  The Willie Nelson Museum

You need to catch a quick tour of the Willie Nelson Museum and see the cool, country music memorabilia from Willie and a host of his country music friends. Located at: 2613 McGavock Pike, Nashville.

The Parthenon

The Parthenon is a must see because it is a exact replica of the full scale original in Athens, Greece. It is located in Centennial Park. Address: 2500 West End Avenue, Nashville.

ACME Feed and Seed

This is one of the most lively places to visit in Nashville with four floors that will probably be packed on the weekend. Each floor offers a different bar and variety of food, so it has something for everyone in your group. Address: 101 Broadway, Nashville

Loveless Cafe

For more than 65 years, the Loveless Cafe has been offering visitors and locals, a place to get together and eat some good  southern cookin. Try out the famous Loveless Country Ham, with two eggs and red-eye gravy. Located at: 8400 Hwy 100, Nashville.

Take in a Tennessee Titans Football Game

The Ryman Auditorium

On your trip to Nashville you have to go see a show at the Ryman Auditorium (Mother Church). The historic building dates back to the 19th century and is now used as a music venue. I recently went to see a David Gray show and it was such a fun experience. From 1943 to 1974, it was home to the Grand Ole Opry. Located just a block away from Broadway, it is a must stop on your Nashville tour. Address: 116 5th Ave N. Nashville

Union Station Hotel

The Union Station hotel is a majestic 1900 train station that remains one of Nashville’s historical landmarks. Located at: 1001 Broadway, Nashville, TN
