Well since I was born and raised in Kentucky, I may be a little biased of its beauty but we have many things to see and experience in this lovely state. First off there is the one thing we are most known for, The Kentucky Derby. Each May, the greatest 2 minutes in sports kicks off the first Saturday. Whether you come for the beautiful hats, the horses or a top notch Mint Julep, you must come and party with the more than 155,000 other visitors. It’s a once in a lifetime experience.

Drive a few hours Southeast of Louisville and go to see Cumberland Falls in Corbin, Kentucky. It is called the Niagara of the South. A beautiful waterfall in Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. Total height is 68ft with a width of 125 feet wide curtain of water and was occupied by a variety of indigenous people. It is the only place in the Western Hemisphere where you can see a visible moonbow. A must see for any visit to Kentucky. I took the above photo on a beautiful summer day out with my mom. Go check out Cumberland Falls Moonbow on Facebook or visit parks.ky.gov for more on our beautiful state parks.

Next stop is the beautiful and breath taking mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Take a hike or mountain climb in the Gorge and visit Natural Bridge State Park. Make time to visit one of the best pizza places around when you are ready for lunch at Miguels Pizza. Known as the Camp Four of the East, rock climbers come from Switzerland, Germany and countries all over the world to climb, camp and visit this staple that has been around since 1986. It is a must on your stop to the mountains.

And finally, I cannot forget about the West. Drive a few hours to the western part of the state to Bowling Green, KY and visit the world famous Corvette Museum. The Corvette is known as Americas Sports Car and is only produced in Kentucky. Come visit the museum that houses over 80 Corvettes in periodic settings.

I hope you take a road trip soon and experience the love of my life. I have lived in 17 cities in 4 different states, New York, Ohio, California and Kentucky and I always come home to this beauty. XOXO
