Ready Set Go…Motherhood!

Everyone has a different story when it comes to planning for a family. This is mine. By no means am I bragging or boasting. I am simply sharing my pregnancy journey. Throughout most my life I was, let’s say a tad bit selfish. I was used to doing what I wanted, when I wanted. I wasn’t one of those little girls who dreamed of becoming a Mom. I was the little girl who dreamed of traveling -and that’s just what I did. Besides traveling I was always interested in learning. So throughout most of my adult life I went back to school. I was able to pick and chose how and when I wanted to attain goals because It was just ME. No kids, no ties. So life was pretty much centered solely around me. Ha ha, my how times have changed.

Fast forward to 2017 and 2018. Olive James was born on 6.7.17. By far the best day of my life. It’s like how did I get so lucky? How did this perfect human come from me?! And- how did I almost miss out on such an amazing experience? Well, I almost did. Having a child was something I thought of for my closest friends and family, that is until I met my husband, then boyfriend Will four years ago. We met, I moved from another city to be with him, we then moved shortly after to open a business together (Fly Shop Co) and decided it was time to take the next step and get married. We talked about how wonderful it would be to have a family together. For the first time in my adult life, I was able to see myself as a Mom. I really liked this vision and so we decided once we tied the knot, we would try and have a baby. Well little did I know one month after we said I do, we would be expecting our little angel. And just like that I was going to be a Mom! And just like that my entire life changed and here we are today. Olive James is the best gift.
