So lately we have been on a traveling quest through our blog. I assume it’s the fact that no one is able to travel since Covid-19 and the quarantine, so at least we can live vicariously through writing about travel. The next on the bucket list is the beautiful island of Kauai in Hawaii. I think Hawaii is a travel destination that everyone has. The island we chose is Kauai because of not only its beauty, but its citizens. Pronounced kow-EYE(-ee), it is the second oldest of the main Hawaiian Islands and is known as the Garden Island. It is also one of the most undeveloped islands, which makes its natural beauty something to see. One great thing that brings tourist to the island is it never gets overcrowded. The population is around 70,000 year-round so you could be sitting on the beach and not see anyone.

So, what are some things you should see and do on the island?

1. Visit Queen’s bath which is a gorgeous tide pool that is located on the north shore of Kauai. Check the water conditions before you go because there may be an extremely dangerous swell. If its low, you can go swimming in the pool.

2. Check out the Kalalu trail and you will experience it with backpackers from around the world. You can see some of Hawaii’s most scenic views on the 11-mile trail. It will lead you to Kalalu Beach which can only be accessed by foot.
3. Check out some of the best beaches on the North Shore: Ke’e Beach, Anini Beach, Hanalei Bay, Secret Beach or Kalihiwai Beach.

4. Remember the show Fantasy Island? At the opening of the show was a double-tiered waterfall called Wailua Falls. You NEED to take a swim in the water around the falls.

5. Visit the Blue Room. If the water levels are just right, you can go in to the sea cave and the light will reflect the most beautiful color blue all over the caves. It is a sight to see.
6. Stop off at Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge.
7. Take the Kauai Off Road Ranch Tour. Ride through unspoiled Kipu Ranch on a 4WD vehicle. Think Jurassic Park, which featured the ranch as well as other blockbuster movies.
8. Take the Napali Snorkel Catamaran Cruise which is a spectacular sight in Kauai.

9. Book the Kauai Luau and Sunset Dinner and enjoy great entertainment and a great Hawaiian feast.

10. Do a Whale Watch Cocktail Cruise and see the amazing humpback whales do their acrobatic moves. And surf at any beach on the island.
