Best Places to Visit in 2020

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Thinking of places, you can take the family for summer vacation or how about taking a vacation alone? Try searching for places not on the most popular list. Or just read our blog and we will give you a few ideas of places that are a real gem of a vacation. Most Americans tend to go to the same vacation spot year after year and never venture out of their comfort zone, but let me tell you, you are missing out on some great adventures.

Travel teaches us invaluable lessons we can’t learn in school. It expands our worldview.

Below are our top five vacation spots you NEED to check out.

Number 1 on the list: The Seychelles

What can you say about the beautiful Seychelles? Mother Nature was kind when she created this paradise with islands spread out around the Indian Ocean. When you dream of the world’s most beautiful beach? Chances are that picture in your mind is Seychelles. This has been one of my dream destinations for many years. Anse Lazio is supposed to be one of the best beaches in the world with a hidden bar that lets you just glide on up and help yourself to an ice-cold beer. Or check out Anse Source D’Argent. It sits on the island of La Digue which is about 15 minutes from Praslin by a ferry.

Where to Stay

The Hitlon Seychelles Labriz Resort and Spa or Chalet D Anse Reunion is a more budget friendly hotel. The link has great options below.

Number 2 on the list: Anguilla

The British territory of Anguilla has some of the best beaches around the Caribbean. Since it is a high-end resort, you probably won’t see a lot of tourist in the area or on the beaches. Maybe a celebrity or two but no one treats them any different from the regular Joe next door which I find great. Some of the beaches to check out are Little Bay if you want some relaxation or need a little party, drop by Windward Bay for excitement all the time. From the end of July to the first part of August, come and check out their Carnival. The whole island comes alive and is a constant party. It a holiday bigger than Christmas there.

Number 3 on the list: Moorea, French Polynesia

At the top of my bucket list is the outstanding island of Moorea in the French Polynesia. You will experience beautiful white sand beaches and myriad flowers. The island truly is magical with immaculate beauty. The vibe on the island is so inviting and the Tahitian people are some of the best in the world at welcoming visitors. You can only get to the island from Papeete by plane or ferry but it is worth the extra steps to get there. When you fly overhead, you will love the fact that the island is shaped like a heart, perfect for honeymooners.

Where to Stay

The Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa or the Manava Beach Resort and Spa is a gorgeous boutique hotel. Check out this link for planning your perfect vacation.

Number 4 on the list: New Caledonia

New Caledonia is just a 3-hour flight from Sydney, Australia, its closest east coast neighbor. New Caledonia is a French territory so the locales tend to only speak French and a little English so you better take a pocket dictionary if you want to communicate. It is so worth the French lesson once you see the beaches. Some of the best times to travel are between February and July since most people tend to want to go from September and November when the weather is pretty perfect. Don’t let that stop you from going though because the weather is pretty perfect most of the time.

Where to Stay

On the higher end is the beautiful Le Meridien Ile des Pins. Looking for more of a budget friendly hotel, check out New Caledonia Residence Marina Beach.

And the final destination, Number 5 is American Samoa

One of the best things about the American Samoa, is a secluded beach. It’s hard to find a place these days that has a beach with no people or very few for that matter. There are not a lot of tourist because most people have never heard of it. The American Samoa is a South Pacific Island not far from Fiji and is the only US territory in the Southern Hemisphere. When you visit, check out the 1st of 7 islands Tutuila. It is home to the International Airport and the capital as well.
