My 1st Treatment with Morpheus 8

So what exactly is Morpheus 8? It is a microneedling device that uses radiofrequency energy to  help reverse  the signs of aging. The treatment goes deep into your skin to help stimulate collagen production. 

What Type of skin issues  Does Morpheus8 Treat?

There are so many skin conditions that Morpheus8 can treat. Here are just a few: acne scars, body scars, texture issues, wrinkles, facial sagging and sun damage. 

How does the process work? And most of all, does it hurt? 

Morpheus8 is relatively painless. You will get numbed beforehand for at least 30-45 minutes before the actual procedure. The needles used are fine but really sharp so it allows the device to puncture the skin without the feeling of tugging. When the device first hits your skin, you may feel a slight tingle then a feeling of warmth. 

What’s the healing like?

After the treatment you might have some slight redness and swelling but the meds you take home will help with that. I noticed a change in a few days with the texture of my skin. It looked revitalized and fresh. After a couple of weeks you will notice your skin will begin to plump and appear more Youthful.  As you can tell from my first treatment, my face looks much more contoured and the puffiness is much less. Depending on your needs, it’s recommended to do 1-3 treatments. I finish up my last treatment at the end of September, so I will update my photos a month after. 

What is the Aftercare Process? 

You will want to moisturize, moisturize and moisturize again. And for goodness sakes; PLEASE use sunscreen and avoid direct sun exposure. If the swelling is still happening after day 1, take a Benadryl. I combined prednisone with Benadryl and had no swelling after the first day but speak to your doctor or nurse. This was just my process that worked. You will get aquaphor to take home before you leave and it works great for any redness.

The great thing about Morpheus 8 in my opinion is it can target different depths in the skin and treat specific tissue levels. If you want to target  unwanted fat,  you can have your nurse or MD use higher settings and deeper levels.  

The most common areas for the RF microneedling treatment is the face, neck, and it works great for firming the jawline. Women also use it on the body to target cellulite and unwanted fat.
